Syes Faraz Ali

Syed Faraz Ali began his career in 2006 as a fine artist from Karachi, Pakistan where he graduated from Indus Valley School of Arts and Architecture. In 2013 he enrolled in the Masters Program at the National Art School in Sydney. Faraz has been awarded the Vilnius Lithuania Bokarats and a scholarship from Rangonwala Art Center in Pakistan to present his work at the Beirut Art Fair. He has participated in various art exhibitions and art competitions around Australia since graduating. He was a finalist in Marie Ellis OAM Prize for Drawing at the Juggler Art Space in Brisbane. Faraz has attended residencies in Amman Jordan, Hill End Bathurst Regional Art Gallery and Blacktown Council. He has exhibited with galleries in Pakistan and abroad. Faraz is the first of five Visual Artists who have been invited by Brand X to explore the possibilities of ESCAC as a blank canvas, responding to the venue’s history, location and personal significance. Syed Faraz Ali’s work evolves from the socio-political specific to his current surroundings. Living in a society that has so many hidden truths and veiled issues, he intends to use this dynamic to bring about change in our society. His work can be described as brutal positivism, infinitely complex and ultimately elusive. There seems to be a search for the means to express what it is like to be alive in this changing era. Each gesture conceals a basic tension; there is certain nobility about the characters, yet somewhat cold to experience. It seems that the protest and the dialogue shall continue to express certain latent aspirations and essential influences of time.  His images are produced from the originally custom made inks from natural pigments.
