Noman Siddiqui
Noman Siddiqui (b. 1980) graduated from Central Institute of Arts and Crafts, Karachi in 2005. The artist primarily works with 3-D forms. Through his sculptures he produces critique on the notions regarding political and social values of the society. To his advantage, he found an ally in industrial materials as a channel to convey his thoughts. Siddiqui has successfully constructed a rather poetic allegorical representation of power politics and empty promises through Lollipops and Balloons. Behind the humor lurks a cavernous and dark narrative which chronicles the political lampoon by way of a visual language aligned with modern and contemporary American Pop.
