Haider Ali (b. 1992) graduated with a distinction from the Department of Fine Arts, at National College of Arts, Lahore, in 2015. His practice reflects the structure as well as the psychogeography of the city of Karachi. Ever changing and constantly shifting, there is a perpetual sense of transformation that pervades the senses. It is at times a metropolis of construction and destruction, explosion and implosion and a contrast between compression and expansion. Ali engages in a personal examination of the city intrigued by the ruptures caused by human development on the one hand and the inevitable forces of nature on the other.
